“A sound mind lives in a healthy body” – A famous proverb depicts that a good health is the biggest asset ever in our life. Hence, one needs to take care of it not only for specific period but throughout his life span. Health and fitness depend on various factors; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

For physical health, we need to do some physical activities like; yoga, pranayama, aerobics, cardio, strength training, pilate etc. Since lockdown days are going on and at this time of crisis, we need to prefer indoor activities to avoid getting contagious with Covid-19. If we go to the gym, there also we do in-house physical activities with equipment. The same can be repeated as per the interest and availability staying at home. In addition to that a balanced diet is also need of an hour to maintain good health and staying fit. A complete diet with all necessary nutrients like; carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals increase our body immunity and maintain energy level. Therefore, we need to be careful to choose our food, what we consume.

Mental health cannot be devoid of as it denotes our cognitive skills. It renders our reasoning and logical skills and keeps our mind active. During this lockdown, we can do many activities like; solving puzzles, riddles, crosswords, sudoku, rubik’s cube etc. A very famous saying- “an idle mind is devil’s workshop” therefore, we should not leave our mind inactive. One should explore more opportunities to get through and ‘think out of the box’ activity can be a great help for learning new skill.

To maintain the same pace, we need to work on our emotional stability too. This lockdown provides us more time to get connected with family members and to know them very closely. So, to bring more harmony and bond, we have ample quality time to spend with each other. We have constant communication and respect for each other which fetch a bond and affinity amongst family members. We relish food together. We extend ‘attitude of gratitude’ to give value to the family members, which is enough for establishing an emotional connection.

To align our mind, body and soul, meditation practice is highly recommendable. It helps a person to find a true self with inner engineering. It pacifies our mind and so during this time of crisis, it helps to bring more positivity and connect to the cosmos. It balances our seven chakras and renders to function our body systematically.

The above practices can embark a deep groove of improvement for life style of any person during this lockdown. Everything is locked down but our creativity should not stop us moving ahead in our life. Staying at home, we can bring harmony; recognize our potential and self being.

Thank you.
